Allowing your Greatest to Shine Through!
We all have the desire to be better, to be greater and to shine brighter. It might sound like a cliché but usually, we are the greatest hindrances to our own growth. Growth isn’t something we stumble upon. It requires a great deal of conscious effort and determination.

As a human, you must be intentional and purposely strive towards growing into the greatest version of who you were called to be.

Daily you must make out time to dig deeper into your divine self to realize who you are. This is because your true passion can only be discovered when you invest into self-realization by taking the time to dig into yourself.

You must begin to recognize for yourself the greatness that is within you and allow it to shine through.

A Question to ponder on: Are you allowing the greatness in your life to shine through? Or are you hiding it?

“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.” -Foster C.  McClellan

Start where you are?

To embark on your journey towards transformation and greatness, you must start where you are. Realize that you haven’t always been where you are today. Take a good look at where you are starting from and realise that you didn’t just appear there; you had to take steps to get there.

The beginning of any journey starts with one step. Take that first step and you will eventually arrive at your desired destination if you are intentional.

As you read this, think about where you are right now.

How did you get there, are you where you truly want to be in life? Are you happy?

In order to help you assess where you are and how you got there.

First things first

Let us begin by taking a second to look at your very own history. Take a trip down memory lane- Are there past experiences that were valuable tools in shaping, moulding and sharpening your life?

Those events and defining moments that made you who you are today are worthy of review. This is because they paint a historical picture of “your extraordinary transformation” over the years- from who you were to who you are today.

Before we begin this exercise, it is important to note that this is neither an attempt to dwell on the past nor loom over previous mistakes and failures.

Our goal is to identify the major contributors to your current state; give them their needed recognition, and use them as springboards for an upward thrust.

Take a moment to consider and journal your thoughts:

  • What was your childhood like (family, school, friends, etc.)? What obstacles have you overcome in life?
  • What achievements are you proud of?
  • Do all these thoughts induce feelings of joy, pride, and self-respect or feelings of anger, frustration, or shame? Why?

After you’ve finished journaling your thoughts, take a few more moments to celebrate your history.

Even if you’ve lived through poverty, abuse, divorce, or poor health—no matter the misfortune—celebrate the fact that you’ve overcome those obstacles, and give thanks to God.

No matter what you experienced in the past, you are capable of accomplishing so much more.

My goal is to stir up fire and passion in your life—the good, as well as the bad and the ugly— to rediscover the diamond buried beneath the rubbles.

The Bible suggests that we should never despise the day of small beginnings because small things are like seeds of potential that carry within their dead, broken shells the ability to produce life again and again.

In the same way, each day of your life is full of unrealized potential.

This is the only time we will look back to celebrate your past. From this point onward, we will look forward to celebrating your future with great anticipation.

No matter how exquisite your previous accomplishments were, we want to push you to the next level of achievement.

You are a diamond waiting to shine in the world and working together, we will uncover new ways you can sow your divinely created self; create more magnificent and lasting contributions, and as a result, experience exponentially greater success.

JOURNAL THE JOURNEY

Ponder on the questions below and write down your thoughts.

  1. Identify your life’s five most defining moments from birth until today.
  2. How have these experiences worked together to mould you into the person you’ve become?
  3. Are you happy with the person you’ve become? Why or why not?

DAILY DECLARATION (TO SAY):

My life is my life, what I am today is a result of the choices I have made, I am taking responsibility for the change I want today. What my life becomes from this point on will be an intentional effort. I will not dwell on my past but I will use it as a launching pad into my future.
